JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise safe and positive contact visits for children and families.
- Create welcoming and supportive environments during family visits.
- Help children feel safe, respected, and comfortable.
- Build positive relationships with children and parents.
- Support families in achieving positive outcomes.
- Observe and document contact visits where required.
- Follow child protection policies and organisational procedures.
- Work professionally with colleagues and external agencies.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Promote child-focused and family-centred practices.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Tertiary qualifications in welfare, child development, social sciences, community services, or a related field, or relevant industry experience.
- Strong understanding of child protection legislation.
- Ability to recognise signs that a child may be at risk.
- Knowledge of family separation and child wellbeing.
- Understanding of mental health, gambling, substance misuse, domestic and family violence, and socioeconomic challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good time management and case prioritisation skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Current Working With Children Check.
- Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
