JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patrol hotel property and assigned areas regularly.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and security systems.
- Respond quickly to emergencies and security incidents.
- Assist guests with room access and safety concerns.
- Maintain accurate security logs and reports.
- Investigate suspicious activities and guest complaints.
- Coordinate with police and emergency responders when required.
- Perform first aid when necessary.
- Monitor employee entrances and secure access points.
- Issue and control keys, radios, and security equipment.
- Handle after-hours deliveries and authorized access.
- Report accidents, thefts, vehicle incidents, and safety hazards.
- Maintain confidentiality of security information.
- Communicate effectively with hotel departments.
- Complete other assigned security duties.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of experience as a Security Officer or related role.
- Valid British Columbia Security License.
- Valid Occupational First Aid Level 2 (OFA 2), CPR, and AED certifications.
- Valid British Columbia Class 5 Driver’s License with three or fewer demerit points.
- Basic Security Training certification.
- Knowledge of the Criminal Code and local municipal by-laws.
- Understanding of workplace health and safety regulations.
- Good Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Excellent observation and attention to detail.
- Good conflict resolution and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Ability to remain calm during emergencies.
- Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Hotel security experience is an advantage.
- Additional language skills are considered an asset.
