Whatnot is hiring a Remote Payroll Analyst to join its Finance team in the United States.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced payroll professionals who have strong knowledge of US payroll processing, Workday Payroll, and payroll compliance.
The successful candidate will manage end-to-end payroll operations for US employees. You will ensure payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
The role also includes working closely with HR, Benefits, and Finance teams to improve payroll processes and support payroll reporting.
This position is suitable for professionals with several years of payroll experience who enjoy working with payroll systems, solving payroll issues, and maintaining high standards of accuracy.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process biweekly US payroll using Workday Payroll.
- Verify employee earnings, deductions, taxes, and garnishments.
- Ensure payroll complies with federal, state, and local laws.
- Handle multi-state payroll processing and tax allocations.
- Maintain payroll records and compliance documentation.
- Support payroll audits and reconciliations.
- Prepare year-end payroll reporting, including W-2 forms.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Work closely with HR and Benefits teams.
- Prepare payroll reports and payroll analysis.
- Improve payroll processes through automation.
- Document payroll procedures and internal controls.
- Support payroll system updates and enhancements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 5–7+ years of US payroll processing experience.
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on Workday Payroll experience.
- Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations.
- Good understanding of US payroll tax laws and wage regulations.
- Experience with payroll audits and reconciliations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience using ADP SmartCompliance.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
